this little apartment in chicago is so cute! it's tiny, but so homey and the owner/renter has done a wonderful and eclectic job of decorating.  i love the mix of traditional and more modern furniture and also the decorations.  and, i love the floors.  i love me some hardwoods, particularly if they're original to the space.  they just look so much nicer than carpets.  i also really like fun throw rugs, and they look so much better on hardwoods than over carpet!

Post-Christmas Update

well, my favorite time of year has officially ended.  i love christmas so much and hate when it is over!  however, this was an exceptional holiday.  i got to see everyone, and i got to spend some quality time with my brother, which never happens anymore! we had so much good food and good times, complete with gaither bros. sing-alongs like the old days.  i'm sad it is over, but excited that i will be home this entire week and therefore able to spend more time with my family!

Almost Christmas

i am so excited.  its wonderful to be home with my family for the holiday.  i can't wait to see everyone decked out in their holiday finest and to see all the decorations.

while it does not really snow that much in dc, it does still get cold and so do my toes! so, for christmas, i asked for a cute pair of these snow boots by kamik.  they are cute and would be functional, even in the cold rain that we frequently get in the winter!

i really want this.  c'mon, who doesn't want free makeup samples every month? who doesn't need more makeup? and its nice makeup.  even better.  right?

if i could have an apartment of my choice, i would want it to look like this one.  i love lofts.  i love old industrial buildings.  i want to live here.  look at the bricks! and the floor! and the poles! its so open. love.

god, i am the picture of indecision, aren't i? i can't find an interface with a layout i really like.  i've tried tumblr (like, but not the themes), wordpress (nice themes, no customizability) and now i am back here at blogger.  its a little harder to figure out, but is infinitely more customizable.  so, i'll take it.  

at least all this changing of blogs has enabled me to (sort of) figure out what i want from this blog.  so, it's going to consist of things i like, things that interest me, pretty things, places i'd like to go, my pins on pinterest, and glimpses into what i wear.  i hope.

i am going to try to have recurring daily posts.  we'll see how long i keep it up!
