Happy NYE! I can't believe that it's only a matter of hours until 2013. Where did time go!?! I'm currently in freezing cold Vermont watching my brother play hockey, so I'll be having a low-key New Years, but I hope all of you are going out with a bang!

Well, the end of 2012 marks the end of my first full year of blogging (I also somehow missed my first blogiversay, oops)! It had it's ups and downs, especially lately, but I am still really enjoying the friends I've made and the work I'm doing here at MC+M! Here are my favorite outfits from the past year. I can't wait to see what my creative juices think up for 2013!

Shades of Gray

Perhaps this title isn't 100% accurate. I am wearing black and grey, yes. I'm also wearing a multi-colored scarf and red glasses. But it's almost like it's a sort of monochromatic outfit. ...Right?
Somehow I had made it through life before this point not owning black skinnies (I know, right?). What was I thinking? They're so versatile. I may have to pick up another pair before winter is out! Because they go with everything! And are flattering! All plusses.
 In other news, I'm still obsessed with my Warby Parker glasses. They're so awesome and red! And affordable. I want another pair. Stat.

No nonsense, No Worries


If you're just tuning into MC+M, you may not be aware that skirts are really not a part of my clothing repertoire, unless the heat and humidity of summer dictates that pants are no where near my legs. Part of this is the dictates of my job (I'm working with old, dirty objects in less than enviable conditions), so skirts are rather impractical. It's also cold, both outside and at work. However, on the rare occasion that I do wear skirts post-October-or-so, I'm always wearing them with tights or leggings. While I originally chose black for both, I have quickly come to realize that colored tights and leggings are simply the way to go! They make things so much more fun and are so much less boring than plain black. COLORED TIGHTS ALL THE WAY!
 I received 2 pairs of No nonsense tights and leggings to try, and I must say I'm pretty pleased, overall! I always associated No nonsense with the nylons (blech) that your mom buys at CVS, and I had no idea that they were beginning to my stylish tights and leggings! Coming in a variety of colors (I received a pair of patterned, eggplant tights and blue, denim-esque leggings), they're stylish and comfortable! I particularly love the pattern on the tights, it gives the eye something to look at in addition to the color. Everyone complemented me on them at the Christmas party I wore them to! The leggings were not as stretchy as I prefer, but the color is rich and they really look like jeans!

Christmas Time is Here!

Now that December has finally rolled around (anyone else feel like it came from no where and it should still be August?), I've completely turned my mind, body, eyes, brain, etc etc to Christmas. It is, after all, my favorite time of year. Ironic, since I despise winter. I can't help but spend time contemplating what I want from Santa, even though I expect nothing and am perfectly happy to spend time with my family and the treeeeee (it better be real, mom). However, if I were compiling a Christmas list, this is what would be on it. Clearly my thoughts are dominated with winter gear and exercise clothes, along with some yummy scents to mask the smell of sweat generated while wearing above-mentioned exercise items. I shower, I promise.
