About Shay: Shay Lianna is a twenty-something young professional living in the District of Columbia, where she is happily employed in the museum field (which in DC means only one place). After discovering a variety of fashion and lifestyle blogs, Shay knew she had to start one of her own, and My Confidence + Me was born in December of 2011.
When she's not working or blogging, Shay enjoys visiting every secondhand bookstore in DC, visiting all the museums and monuments the city has to offer, and cultivating her taste in craft beers. You can also find her tapping into the Hockey East website to cheer on her beloved BU Terriers and honorary favorite team, the UNH Wildcats.
About MC+M: My Confidence + Me is a lifestyle and fashion blog that captures Shay Lianna's exploration of fashion on a budget, photography, and life in the nation's capital. Begun in 2011 as a way to document Shay's daily outfits, MC+M expanded after she received her first DSLR camera, and now includes her amateur photography, attempts in the kitchen, and various other aspects of her life.
Why the name My Confidence + Me? Taken from the lyrics to a song by Matt Nathanson, the phrase has come to mean many things for Shay. Though life sometimes brings struggles, it helps to remember that with faith and confidence in yourself, everything will turn out fine!
This time, I'll be sailing
No more bailing boats for me
I'll be out there on the sea
Just my confidence and me
And I'll be awful sometimes
Weakened to my knees
But I'll learn to get by
On little victories
No more bailing boats for me
I'll be out there on the sea
Just my confidence and me
And I'll be awful sometimes
Weakened to my knees
But I'll learn to get by
On little victories
- Matt Nathanson
